ASWM for Linux
Chapter 5 : ASWM Software for Linux
Q. The browser showed a message “Browser lost connection to
ASWM server. Close and reopen a new browser and connect
ASWM server after the problem is fixed.” Is anything wrong here?
A. While automatic update feature is enabled, ASWM pages will
routinely detect the network status. If network problems occurs
that stops your Internet connection, the links on the left side will
no longer respond. An alert message will remind you that the
browser has detected some unusual network situations and it has
actively stopped all automatic update actions.
At this moment, you need to resolve your network problem and
click refresh in your browser to rebuild the connection with the
ASWM server.
A better method would be to close the browser and reopen the
browser. Because it is not clear how long the browser has lost
connection with the ASWM server. It is possible that all session
data have timeout and lost on the Apache HTTP Server. If this
worst case happened, reloading pages will only provide no data
or old data.
Q. I saw ASWM supports VNC Server. How do I customize my VNC
Server?
A. ASWM supports connection to a VNC Server which is installed
on the ASMA host. You have to do a full installation of the VNC
Server because ASWM display is provided through Java. Also,
do not forget to startup Xvnc daemon on the ASMA host. Please
note that ASWM connects to the VNC Server on your ASMA host,
it does not connect through your ASWM host.
In "ASWM Configuration", you can set your desired VNC display
number if the default display “1” is not applied to your primary
vncserver terminal. You can also startup as many sessions as
you want and then switch to different sessions through the ASWM
configuration.
